About Ms. Shikles
I grew up in Kansas City and came to Columbia in 1980 to attend MU. I have a B.S. and M.S. in Agriculture from Mizzou. I worked at ABC Laboratories, Inc. for 14 years (and still do on the weekends and during the summer) then went back to college to earn a teaching certificate in Middle School Science and Agriculture. I am now also certified to teach Physics First and Biology. In addition to teaching science my passions include horses, dogs and my grown children, my son, John and his wife, Michelle and my daughter, Katie.
The first semester of 7th grade science covers basic chemistry concepts including atoms and molecules, types of matter, physical and chemical properties and changes, and chemical reactions. During the second semester waves, weather and climate are our main concepts.
