Middle School is so exciting. There is always something going on. JMS offers your children so much enrichment to their lives. I'm proud to work here.
Quality Work
For the rest of the school year, students will NOT be able to re-do their classwork, homework, or projects. They must work harder and smarter and turn in quality work the first time and accept the acquired grade for it. Enabling students to produce poor quality work doesn't encourage them to have pride in their abilities and effort.
Africa Unit
We are studying the big three kingdoms in Medieval Africa. Students will have a group presentation tomorrow (Friday). We will look at the partitioning of the African nations by European nations, the African geography, issues regarding geography, Bantu migration, East Africa, West Africa, and South Africa. Huge amount of information. We should be finished by the time we are MAP testing...mid April, we think.
Summer School Enrollment
K-8th online enrollment is open at www.cpsk12.org/ssenroll . Paper copies are also available in the school office.
CSI Enrichment Program
Cyclones-to-Scooter Investigations is March 21-23. Students accepted to the program will have the opportunity to participate in free enrichment lessons at Columbia College. The classes include Chemistry, Nursing, and Computer Programming & coding. Yellow forms will be coming home this week.
