Thursday is the unit test!

it's a big week in science as we finish up our water cycle unit. Projects are due tomorrow! I've seen a lot of great ideas coming along. I'm looking forward to seeing all the creative posters, comics and children's books.

We're almost there but there's still a couple big oportunities to make or break your grade in science. Next Tuesday, we'll have another quest. This one will be over chemical properties and changes. It may also include some density questions since so many people still need work on density concepts.
Friday, Dec. 16th is the semester final exam. It is a comprehensive exam (over everything we've learned this semester) and is worth 10% of your grade. This is a challenge but it's fun to find out how much you've learned since August. Good Luck!! Hi guys,
It's unit test time again. You'll be getting a study guide next Tuesday for the test on Thursday. The test is over unit 3, phases of matter and kinetic theory.. We will be having a quiz over phases of matter and phase changes on Wednesday, Nov. 9th. If you've missed any notes, the power point and reading can be found on Schoology.
Good job guys! But if you didn't do so well --you scored BELOW 27/45 on the test--you can come to tutoring next Wednesday, Nov. 2nd to try to make up some points. If that's you, you need to study and prepare to correct the mistakes you made on the test. Each corrected answer is a half point back on your score.
Hi guys!
You all did a great job on your projects! Hope you enjoyed the movie last week. Don't forget to write in your planners that the unit test over Atomic Structure is Friday, Oct. 21st. That sounds far away but remember this Thursday and Friday you will be taking the Aspire test so we really don't have that much time to finish up. You will be getting homework most nights so you will need to be sure to keep up. Don't forget the Adopt an Element projects are due Wednesday. We will work on them in class but they must be complete by the end of the class period.
I updated grades in home access this morning. Sooo many of them look great. You guys are an impressive group! Keep up the good work. Hi kids,
The results of the unit test from Tuesday are now on home access. If you failed the test (scored less than 60%), you can come in Monday for tutoring and try to make up some missed points. Monday, Sept. 20th will be the only day you can do this. Please let me know if you are coming. Happy Tuesday again! I hope everybody had a great long weekend. We've had so much fun stuff going on around here that we've taken a little longer than expected to get through this unit so I've changed the unit test date to Tuesday, Sept. 13th.
I need everybody to work on paying attention in class and keeping things in their science binder so homework gets completed and turned in. We're having a little trouble getting rid of 6th grade habits. Grades have been updated on home access. Please check my entries with the grades you have gotten back on worksheets and the quiz. Happy Tuesday!
Our first unit test will be next Friday, Sept. 9th. It will cover everything we've done in our metrics and measuring unit. It will be worth 40 points. If you are still having trouble with conversions, check out the tutorials and power point slides I put on Schoology and this site. Also, don't forget you can come in for help anytime after school but for longer time, Mondays. (Sorry I couldn't stay yesterday. I had an appointment I made over the summer). I will post a study guide for the unit test next week. |
